Verizon and Deloitte

Google, along with Verizon and Deloitte, will help New York improve its online and telephone unemployment compensation systems, according to a statement released Thursday by the State Department of Labor. The search giant's Google Cloud service will support a new simplified online application system that is more reliable and capable of handling the largest number of users, the note says. Candidates can also register their applications for further completion and access the system from multiple devices, such as phones or tablets.

New York State will also implement a "callback" feature that will allow representatives to call applicants within 72 hours of submitting the request. Previously, candidates had to call a number to speak to a representative to complete the process.
